MAB action

Post by flatlina »

I've been offered a rifle that has a MAB action, black mountain barrel and Lionel Weeks stock. The bloke says it's not an Omark. What are these like?

It's not an Omark, the same way that non Falcon Ford utes aren't Mazdas. Same horse, different rider, in other words.

Originally there was a local company, Sportco, which after a time, was bought out by the international Omark. When the market didn't live up to their expectations, they closed shop & some time later, Graham & Anne Bugden bought some of the tooling & the rights to the action.

MAB, Margaret Anne Bugden.

They did improve the trigger & arguably, the uniformity of manufacture.

I had a feeling that was the case when I asked how the bolt locked up and that it had a black mountain barrel. Thanks for the quick reply. I already have an Omark in the safwe somewhere, but he only wants $350 for it. I'll see what the stock is like.
