Hi all. Was wondering if anyone has the saami or cip minimum specs for the 308 Winchester and the 7.62x51?
If I'm reading the rules right, the neck specs can't be under the minimum for either. I thought there was a thread on here about this issue a while ago, but can't remember. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: IFCRA Chamber Specs
The most likely place you might be be faced with a neck spec issue is Bisley. This is how it was explained to the 2006 Match Rifle team:
Bisley compliance (verification check) is determined as follows:
(a) Field checking is carried out against a .340” slot in their compliance gauge. The case neck should not enter that slot. This dimension allows margin for spring back from SAAMI minimum chamber neck diameter of .3432”.
(b) Doubtful cases are checked with a .340” ring gauge. If a fired case enters that gauge, the internal diameter & wall thickness are examined. Entry of a .3125” plug is considered adequate evidence of free expansion and confirmation that there is no attempt to use fitted necks.
Note that ICFRA now talks of .223 & .308 & their commercial metric equivalents. That is no the same spec as the military equivalents.

The Palma 95 reamer I have cuts a 0.342" neck. About as tight as you would want to go.

Re: IFCRA Chamber Specs
I have just had 2 barrels chambered up and I'm fairly certain that they have .340 necks. I'm not planning to shoot Bisley, but I believe that this will be fine to shoot in Canada.

The body complies but the free bore is to short for Bisley.
