6mm 105gn Bergers

Post by Chris Burdett »

Recieved 500 6mm 105gn VLD Bergers today, thank you Peter.
I,m interested in info regarding jam/jump/load, from those who have used these. I,ll use them in 6mmBR and 243AI.

Chris
Berger VLD"s by reputation group best when seated firmly into the lands.
From measurements I have taken in the past the parrallel shank or the bullet is not completely parrallel but has a slight taper with the largest diameter being at the junction of the shank and the boatail.
Thus giving a slight self aligning aspect to loaded rounds when they are seated into the lands.

Hi Chris
I have using BERGER's for about 5 or 6 years and they seem to like about 15th -25th jam
I have never had much luck grouping them at 100 but seem to group better at 300+ but every rifle is different
Cheers

Thanks Raven & Ken, tried a few on Sat. had to do a ladder in reverse( ie. start high and go lower) anything over 29.5gn 2208 was all over the place(6BR) at 29.4gn. they cleaned the target at 500yds. Jambed in new cases. Next chance I,ll look for another node higher with the 243AI.
