The likely hood of anyone here in OZstralia getting their hands on one is very slim I imagine...
It was my understanding that a rifle in any factory caliber, not a Wild Cat, was acceptable and certainly I have seen many using those factory rifles in aftermarket stocks...
I know of at least one shooter that is on his second barrel and it is definitely NOT from the manufacture's factory.
I don't have a horse in this race but it would seem to be a very limiting factor if such rules of "Factory Equipment Only" were strictly applied...

Sure does make things tough... I suppose in the end it is up to @ individual club as to how strictly these rules are enforced..

From the current SSRs:

Only option would be to send the rifle back and get it rebarreled back to OEM spec (like you said). That friend of yours would be required to shoot in PCO. Regardless of how close that aftermarket barrel resembles the original - Whether we agree with that or not.
