Numbers noted, can’t beat a coming World Championship to flush out the shooters,I hope it is warmer there than down South, good shooting to all competitors and congratulations to the place getters in the President’s Match.

Was an extremely tight shoot at the top. Great fun.

Mike,

I feel FTR numbers are simply just growing naturally, I’ve brought 3 new shooters to FTR just this last year... and comps seem to have more and more.

Perhaps a case of less gear and a wider selection of components is attracting people?

Imagine how good it would have been if the 6mm BR with Bi-Pod had been chosen as the "standard" cartridge. Low recoil, great ballistics etc etc. Dead level playing field, cost effective and shooter skill would shine through.

I believe a proposal along these lines was put to the NRAA some 15 plus years ago by a man from Canberra who has now "left the range".

Well , I agreed with the proposal years ago to limit F/TR to 155gr projectiles but it was voted down!

My wife is in transition to FTR and eldest son coming back to shooting and going FTR. Seeing I reload for them my hidden agenda is nothing heavier than 155 grain to build wind reading skills with a scope. Its my belief BC can't buy a score when sound wind reading will sort the wheat from the chaff over a championship series. It teaches the shooter to be observant and recognise patterns and cycles in weather. BC does not necessarily equal group size either.
