NRAA National Queens
Interesting nomination numbers at Belmont this year.
The Trans Tasman F Class and Teams trials has added F Class numbers.
Total Target rifle numbers are 72
Total F Standard 26
FO 30
F/TR 31
Thus 87 total F Class

Re: NRAA National Queens
Well after day 1 of my first Queens I can tell you I'm down near the bottom of the leader board in F-open, not from lack of trying as it's my first time shooting at Belmont and quite different from anywhere else I've shot at. It's been a steep learning curve though and hats off to Matt P and Craig M for the friendly advice and words of encouragement during the day.

Re: NRAA National Queens
A good day today , conditions were readable with an occasional fast drop off or pick up that caught some out ( me ) . But on a whole some very close shooting as the first day is done and dusted . The Sun was out all day and was very pleasant. Tomorrow is more of the same. I personally had Fun ! Tomorrow is another day !
I believe rain is forecast for Sunday ! I hate shooting in the rain as much as I like playing in poo lol!

Conditions today have been sporting with fishtailing winds so far in the morning. Half of my record shots were practically sighters . Was tough ! 900 and 1000 to go ! Good luck everyone!

Re: NRAA National Queens
Hello.
About 15 years ago I competed in F Open at the National Queen's at Belmont against two high-stepping roosters called Bill Hallam and Matt Paroz. They finished 1 2, with daylight 3rd.
In those days, we had 3 sighters and a 10 minute time limit. I think an average time was about 8 minutes. I scored for Bill. I don't think he went past 4. Not sure about Matt's times but he was also quick.
2019. Day 2.
Bill Hallam. Standard.
800. 2.21 (1 sighter) 60.7
900. 2.12 (2) 60.4
900. 2.50 (1) 60.5
1000. 2.41 (1) 56.0
Matt Paroz. Open.
800. 2.24 (0) 59.7
900. 2.49 (0) 59.6
900. 1.27 (0) 60.6
1000. 1.47 (0) 60.3
Matt's second 900 needs special mention. It was his fastest and highest score. His vertical was 2.58"/0.274 MOA.
At the end of Day 2, Bill is 7 down and leads Standard by 4.
Matt is 2 down and leads Open by 5.
Regards,
John T.

Re: NRAA National Queens
Yep, exceptional shooting from Matt today, although he may not agree, conditions were tough today with many shaking their heads, particularly at 900 and 1000. I certainly had a stronger day at the longs as opposed to the shorts so my goal of simply trying to read the conditions and not worry about the result seemed to work - my rifle does seem more suited to the longs though. Looking forward to tomorrow and I must say it's been great meeting some very well renowned shooters who know far more than I and are happy to share advice and a laugh. Here's a pic of the firing line at 1000...

Yes , a great match to be watching from here, like a 'keyboard warrior' does !
Cool to follow the groups of some of the key players via the online Hexa scoring system.
Guess I should get myself over there and try my luck. Maybe next year. Regards Rob Kerridge.

Re: NRAA National Queens
9 and a half hours in the car and I'm back home in Sydney, tired but very pleased I attended my first Queens and I certainly came away a wiser shooter. Congrats to all the winners, well deserved. I was scoring for Jim Bailey who looked unstoppable until he threw a magpie 3 at 3'o clock at 1000 yards - One of the ET guys came over and asked if there was a problem with the system as non one could believe it, but conditions at 1000 today ruined many a shooter. Great range though and I look forward to going back next year.

Congrats to all the winners
. In F-Open I am reminded of the days on the 10 ring target when Matt used to clear out, and the main competition was for No2 badge
. Great performance in testing conditions. And Bill Hallam's F-Std performance was exceptional also. And extremely close in F/TR, well done Gary and commiserations Marty.

Re: NRAA National Queens
That brings back memories Alan the good old days maybe or maybe not
I remember my first VRA queens and I match Matts score at 300yds I was very impressed by my performance almost scaring myself a bit
Matt was always a mile ahead of everyone else and No. one FO shooter back then until he decided he wanted more competition and went to FS
I remember calling Matt and he gave me some very good advice which I still use today.
Maybe Matt Peroz is the FO Phoenix rising from the ashes
The landscape is a lot different now days and a great win by him
Congratulation Bill great shooting at the longs
congrats to Gary always a solid FTR shooter
