From 22.11.1 600 Yard Competition – Course of Fire: of the SSR's

(b) All shooters will have a 6-minute sight in period for the first target and 2 minutes for each successive target. Shooters are permitted unlimited number of sighter shots during the sight in period. At the end of the sight in period shooters will have 10 minutes to fire their 5 record shots. No coaching or feedback is permitted during the record period, and all targets are to be shot ‘blind’.

Help required for someone who is going to give it a crack; are the sighters fired on the same target as the record shots, is the target pulled each shot and marked to show the sighter position, if same target is it just patched out before record time starts.

There are 2 targets up. The left is the sighter which is marked after every sighting shot. A the end of the sighting period you shift to the other target for your record shots.

Hi Bart

As Trev indicated in his post, we run with two targets on the target frame. We use the left one as a sighter target where each shot is pulled and marked in the sighting period. Once the sighting period is over and last shots have been marked for shooters to see their last sighter, the target boards stay up with shooters moving their aim across to the other target to shoot their record shots.

There have been occaisions where the shooters shoot the wrong target so we get the RO to remind them to be on the correct target for either sighter or record periods before they get the commence fire.
