QRA Queens equipment list?

Post by SunnyCoast 5r »

As a newby looking at building a FTR or FOpen rig.... is it usual to see a list of gear that was used at the Queens? Even just what calibre?or is it poor form to ask?

Thanks in advance. :?:

Great idea, I'd be very interested in this too.

No, it is not poor form. Unofficial Ozfclass equipment lists used to be part of many Queens Blogs. I have noticed that the last few Queens have not had them. Likely because it took a few shooters some time to get around to all of the shooters at a Queens.
Come on TonyB, your journalistic KPIs are slipping.

I'll start it off:

I used a 6.5x47L Chambered by Gary Hunt for the ranges up to 800 yards.

I used a straight 284W chambered by Phil Bradshaw for 900 and 1000 yards.

I used a 6x47L and swapped to a 7 saum when the 6mm ammo ran out.

Yes, sorry folks.......I just couldn't find the urge to do it.
In between shooting, reloading, and Counselling sessions (important when you go from 4th on Day One, to 10th on Day Two, and finish in 18th) I just couldn't get excited about an Equipment List without my partner-in-crime Tim Nugent there this year.
It actually takes a lot of time to do properly, and this year I was too busy (flat out actually :D ) feeling sorry for myself.
Extreme accuracy and precision shooting at long range can be a very addictive pastime.

Would you mind sharing additional details for us newcomers ... i.e. Barrel, action, stock, scope...

I will throw this in here for the new players who might be interested......and to deflect attention from my failure to collate it for this year !

Many of the details will be pretty much the same , although a notable exception to that would be Bob Kinnear from WA with his sexy new Speedy Gonzales "Spear of Destiny" stock. Loved it and want one badly !

On the otther hand, don't go near his Inch, which broke down twice before he finally gave up on it.
