Pawder Avaialability in Tasmania

Post by johnk »

With the F Class nationals coming up next year, the question has been asked hereabouts as to whether the Tasmanian Rifle Association handles powder or whether there is an alternate reasonable source?

Any information would be welcome.

The gunshops dont have a lot. A mate of mine lives over there and he said powder is hard to get from all the shope he has rung.

I'm starting to wish for crabs for the lot of you - and not those little buggers you rake up back of Lower Light.

I prefer eating pink snapper. Bream have lost their appeal while the weather is bad and my freezer is now empty...

Off topic further are you taking a few days in tassie in search of a fish Richard? Im hoping to get up to either Arthurs or Western Lakes again, or at least the Tyenna River as well.

Brad I have been going to Tas for the last 14 years fly fishing
I don’t think I will be able to fit any fishing in as I would still be paying of my WFC excursion and the war office would be to please if I extended my time in Tas to go fishing.
That time of the year would be great in the highland lakes a fist full of dry flies and away ya go.
Sure happy to give you some pointer if required :)

All good mate I remember a few spots from a couple of years back. Will be a joy to use a 6wt again as a 9 lobbing crabs at permit and candies at tuna real quick does nothing for your skills at presenting dries to trout.
