Hi Aubrey,

Sounds like you're onto a good product based on the tech info and testimonials.

One question, does FL replace the types of solvents typically used when breaking in a new barrel, such as Hoppes and Sweets ?

Thanks

Hi Nigel, thanks

I believe FL CLP and Solvent are better at carbon cutting than Hoppes, but the FL Solvent is not a dedicated copper solvent, so I'd use a Boretech type product for aggressive copper removal, and the solvent/CLP combination for regulation thereafter.

More detail on website at www.froglubeaustralia.com

Thanks Aubrey,

Looks good stuff - now I understand the procedure for using FL on a barrel that has been broken in, seems straightforward, regarding my earlier query, using FL when breaking in a new barrel i interpret the website info as follows:

1. Clean the new barrel with FL solvent and "season" it (FL terminology) including using heat in the process.
2. Break in the barrel using whatever routine you choose (1+1+1 then 3+3+3 etc) but during this process you can use FL solvent to remove the carbon but rely on a more traditional copper solvent eg Boretech Eliminator for copper removal.
3. Once broken in, use the FL system exclusively.

Thank you for sample Aubrey.
We have a rural mail service and I think he put the envelope under a fairly solid parcel as one tube was flattened and had lubed several other envelopes. Has excellent penetration properties.
It is definitely a very smooth lubricant and my first thought was it would go very well as a trigger lube. Love the smell. :)
I sent links for FL to the local gun shop for them to work out whether or not they wished to stock it.
Regards
Ray.

Thanks Ray, should be good for bolt lube and carbon removal.
