SARA is intending to have a trial of F/TR at their Queens near the end of September. Warracknabeal in July might be an opportunity for a few SA shooters to come across and give their gear a "rehearsal". Its a 2 day OPM which helps make the drive worthwhile.

Well done Warracknabeal if you can cater for F/TR. At this early stage it needs a bit of a leg up. Anyone interested in competing in F/TR at Raton, the nomination cut-off has been extended till May 24th. Just E-mail the NRAA if you're interested.

Is F/TR per ICFRA 100%, or an Aussie version of it?

What I think he means is, are you using the ICFRA rules as published, of have they been adjusted in anyway.

The only way to go is pure unadulterated International ICFRA Rules

barry,
if you want icfra rules come to the sara queens and shoot for the savage rifle.
it would be a golden opportunity to promote your bipods.
after adam's recent performance, he would be one to put money on in the savage cup.
and if you don't win the rifle, you might win the leupold 8.5 - 25 long range target scope just by entering.
keep safe,
bruce.

G'day Bruce.

Tempting -- we will see how it goes at Warracknabeal first. After the belting most everybody suffered at 1000 yds at Stawell yesterday, the chance of something heavier with better ballistics could be very appealing and could be what F/TR needs to get it going.

Barry,
My limited experience in F/class standard and match rifle leads me to believe that no matter what, sooner or later every one gets a day they don`t like, and on the same day , so does all the other shooters. Given a better/superior projectile, usually all that happens is the order remains the same and the scores rise somewhat.

However since F/TR allows more choice than F/standard obviously you are going to try and maximise your chances, eagerly I await published scores showing the superiority of certain projectiles.

The superiority or otherwise of one projectile over another can only be ascertained when all things are equal for both -- and that rarely happens in FB shooting. An example of this was at Stawell where the 223 of Peter Kelly outshot all the competition, all heavier, some faster, and we know the 223 is inferior don't we?
