F/TR in Prize Meetings

Post by Southcape »

I am searching for Prize Meetings around Australia that will be running F/TR.

Can you make my life easier by posting in this thread if your Prize Meeting is supporting F/TR, and the dates it will be running.

Many thanks. :D

Alan, you missed the chance to list our prize meeting.
Rosedale will do F/TR. Can't remember any other details as it's been a very long day at work.

You just missed the Tumut OPM in NSW. A good fun shoot.
Course of fire was 800,900,1000,1000, with a good number of F/TR entries.

Well here is the challenge for clubs/DRA's

I am looking for PM's running after the State teams competition in Mackay.

I need somewhere for our AU F Class team to meet. Now this could be on the range at Belmont, or we could support a club the is supporting F/TR and F Open and boost their competition numbers.

2 weeks after Mackay is Cairns and Mossman OPM (27th and 26th May). Cairns did vote to include FTR in the Prize meeting and CRM kindly offered to sponsor the prize. I will try and gee up Mossman also but maybe less likely but could shoot in the OPEN comp there I am sure we can work out a grand aggregate system nonetheless. There are probably 6 or 7 shooters within our own club and many in the district who would be interested.

Townsville is another 2 weeks later and a great 3 day shoot - Not sure they will have FTR (but could try twisting their arm?? - maybe supply a prize to help convince?? ) but if not could all shoot in F open there as great training. Lots of 700, 800 and 900m ranges. Hook up the caravan and a great month of FTR trials and training. Sure we can find some loading presses and gear where necessary (favour to be returned somewhere!!!) Then head to Nationals in Brisbane!!

I will be flying back from Raton, and down to SARA for the Queens before heading home.

Please accept my apologies now, for the jet lagged sorry state I will be in. LOL. You will probably find me curled up under a bush sleeping at some stage.

If someone wishes to assist me in finding somewhere to stay down there, I would appreciate it. :D

Linda,

The bushes at Lower Light are very small and spindly - however there's quite a good Motel in Two Wells (about 20 min away) where I've stayed recently. Tel (08 ) 8520 2210.

At a recent exec meeting Cairns Rifle Club decided to adopt a slightly different format in introducing FTR at our OPM.

Rather than have a completely separate class we have decided to include it as a second set of prizes over and above the FS and FO class.

Some FS shooters qualify for FTR and the others fall under FO rules. Some of our FS shooters indicated they would still like to shoot FS to get a score towards their grading but they do qualify for FTR as well. Hence the exec decided to run FTR concurrently with both these classes. There will be a box to nominate for the FTR prizes "in addition" to the FO and FS class.

Prizes include (but not limited to) 500 Berger Hybrids (thanks to CRM gunsports).

Cheers,
Dave
