Barrel Length

Post by wsftr »

Hi,
apologies for such basic questions.
Does barrel length conversations typically include the threaded portion? i.e if I was told to get a 30" barrel is that including the threaded portion for the chamber?
And would I ask the gunsmith to provide a 30" finished barrel?

Thanks

The generally accepted method is from the boltface to muzzle.
Easiest to measure with a cleaning rod.

Thanks - I just wanted to make sure I was asking for the right thing, I had always assumed the length was the bit you can see. Clearly not :)
