Tri May Actions - Barnard Replacement?

Post by PeteFox »

Some of you wouldn't have seen this, so I'm reposting here, found on facebook .
Seems like it's a drop in replacement for a Barnard. would be interested to know if the barel fitting is the same. NZ made.
Separate bolt head, but unlike Omarks etc, doesn't have a cross pin, bolt head retention is via a Reuleaux triangle shaped male/female parts and a roll pin. see first image.
Sorry, don't have any more details and can't find a webpage
Pete

Sounds like good news! Be interesting to know if it's a drop in fit for Barnard's fitted with a rem 700 style trigger or a Barnard with a Barnard trigger.

G'day All,
Looking at CAD model images, the trigger hanger and the "shape" of the trigger suggest R700 style triggers. That's going to offer a lot of options and easy swapping for TR/Fstd/FO classes.

Based on a long discussion with the creator today, I believe the following is accurate:
Same footprint and diameter as Barnard P - drop in for most chassis/stocks
Same barrel thread & dimensions as Barnard P
Remington trigger hanger, BYO trigger
Interchangeable bolt faces
Tikka extractor
Black Nitride finish
Bolt release lever, allows for direct bolt extraction
Fixes several Barnard problems, eg primary extraction
Length adjustable firing pin
Prices tbd, but approx to Barnard P prices.

Yeah, their website went live today, the developer spoke about the creation of the action at the APS Finale in Bendigo tonight. Had a production model on display and it's a very well made action, very slick and aside from trigger options, the camming on this action seems improved over Barnard.
