ANNOUNCEMENT:
Dear all,
With great excitement, I announce the Australian Points Series, also known as the V2 Challenge. The series is currently set to be launched in 2024 and is aligned with the USA F-Class Points Series and other participating nations.
The purpose of this announcement is to ask that anyone interested in receiving more information and or if interested in being involved to please send their details as below:
Contact e-mail: AusPointsSeriesV2@gmail.com
Please include your Name, Surname, Phone Number, E-mail address and Postal Address.
Over the coming weeks, additional information will be shared with those individuals who have registered and will include the competition schedule, rules, sponsorships, fees etc.
Please share this news with as many of your fellow shooters so that no one is accidentally looked over.
OVERVIEW:
The V² Finale is being presented as a competition designed by competitors for competitors. The event offers a matchup-style/Bisley-style tournament to ensure that each competitor competes against an opponent on a level playing field - no relay excuses. No puller excuses. No firing point excuses. Just you and your immediate opponent.
A total of 64 competitors will be invited to the V² Finale based on their performance during the season. Accumulate enough points during the season to be within the top 32 shooters in your equipment category (F-Open or F-TR), and you’ll automatically be invited to the V² Finale match. Shooters are seeded into the V² Finale according to their accumulated points during the season.
The V² Finale itself is conducted over three (3) days. It’s a double elimination tournament - this means that everybody has the opportunity to shoot at least two matchups. A loss in the primary bracket will seed you into the elimination bracket, where you will have the opportunity to continue on and potentially work your way back to shoot for the overall Championship.
The V² Finale is a pair-fire, best two of three format - meaning, you and your opponent for each stage are shooting at the exact same time, in the exact same conditions, on the exact same target. The only person you are competing against is the person next to you. You advance if you win two out of three matches in your round matchup.

This is a great idea, definitely keen to sign up and I’ll pass it on to members in my club who don’t frequent the forum.

Count me in-after watching a few of the American shoots it should be a great competition

Count me in for FTR looks like fun and non machine gun shooting.

This will be awesome, I'd been discussing this concept with a few shooters but work and other commitments have put this on the backburner. Thanks so much for driving it Albert, this will be a winner.

Good to see this happening Albert.
I've been watching EC's US matches and they look great.
I gather this will be held in Australia?
Will it be run under the NRAA banner & SSRs?
I'll be tempted to switch to FTR or FO if that's the case.

Hey Kp101,
A survey is currently being taken by all shooters who have indicated an interest in the competition series to understand preferences. I have a soft spot for Pinjar, and an event like this would feature well within those facilities, however, I don't believe anyone from WA has registered as yet.
So, WA is not off the table, but I cannot currently see it as an option.

Cheers mate
I know of 2 people that are keen and now with this insight I can talk to the rest of our members and get an idea of interest as most people didn’t entertain the idea as thought it would be off the cards haha
Cheers mate will be in touch
