Is an Omark Eligible for Sporter Class ?

Introduced in 2019, this class is defined in Chapter 23 of the SSRs. It offers shooters with factory sporting rifles the opportunity of participating at NRAA ranges alongside TR and F-Class.

Always an option to sell the Omark and buy a cheap rifle (Rem700, Howa1500, Tikka T3)

WA's firearms laws make it a difficult & expensive exercise to licence another rifle, I think it's close to $200 for an addition to a licence. Omarks like these almost have no commercial value over here. The plan was to set it up for Sporter Class, use it occasionally and be available for new shooters to try out. I don't want to purchase another rifle , I was hoping it could be a cheaper entry into this class. I don't want to push the envelope and build something that isn't eligible , that could create insurance issues.
There is the possibility that the NRAA make an exemption for original Omarks to be approved for Sporter Class , ie original stock & trigger with 26 inch black barrels. But then someone would want a Musgrave, Angel , Neilson , Dale etc etc to be approved. Starting to sound familiar isn't it.

I think it was closer to 400 now Brad. Shooting isn’t far off the cost of Motorsport the way things are going.

$400 ? I wasn't aware it had gone up that much. Definitely rules out another purchase.
