Welcome pisco,

The scope itself is just under $1k, made in China and has a 10 year warranty. There are quite a lot of similar scopes.

The optics-trade.eu site makes a standard video in which they zoom in/out on a target and track left/right and up/down.

https://www.optics-trade.eu/au/athlon-a ... 0-sfp.html

In the video, with their test scope, when winding the crosshairs right they move up considerably (see the 1:00 minute mark) - this is not good.

This mis-tracking should not happen but it may entirely not matter to you for reasons including:

a) It may simply be an issue with that test scope
b) You almost certainly don't need the full 50MOA of windage (this would be offset a 50mph crosswind at 1000 yards with a 155gn 308)

In the world of optics you do generally get a better product the more you pay but it is not linear. I have scopes that range from $500 (Vortex) to $2000 (Sightron) to $4000 (March). The $4000 one is not 8x better than the $500, nor is it even 2x better than the $2000 one.

A good choice depends on way more than just budget. If you can share a bit of detail about what you want to do with this scope you will get more useful advice than my generic comments.

I've had an Athlon on one of my F Standard Rifles for 2-3 years and used it successfully.
I think its one of the best scopes available under $1000. Its light is a little bit duller then a Sightron or Nightforce but this only becomes noticeable under very bad lighting, like very heavy dark storm clouds and a bit of drizzle.
Always found it reliable, and its windage and elevation movements are as precise as my Nightforce.
Two of our Club members also have them and are also quite happy with them.
Best price I can see at the moment is here:-
