:D :D
GENTLEMEN.
I am looking for info on a wildcat?? cal the 6.5/06.
If I understand what I have being told its a 30/06 shell necked down??
to fit a 6.5 bullet.
Q1 dose such a round exist .
Q2 where would I find data and or reviews on this.
Q3 who would build such a rifle(localy in oz or overseas)
Q4 what is the nearest STANDARD CAL with the same performance.

Many thanks in advance.

I think the 6.5x284 is the wildcat that took mainstream, have you considered it? 30/06 performance in a shorter case!

Look here: http://www.6mmbr.com/SixFive284.html

1: Yes
2: Look for 265 RCBS data or plain old 6.5/06 ... lots of info about if you Google search.
3: I think TSE has a reamer, Shane Clancy, Tobler, Sprinter ... all can do it.
4: 270Winchester.

Cheers...

Q1 = Yes
Q2 = Try BRC ,search 6.5 x06 Imp
Q3 = Shane Clancy
Q4 = done right there isnt any

Based on a RWS 270 case ,same neck length with a 35 or 40 deg shoulder and improved you can run h1000 and a 9 twist at approx 3150 + .. I have a pal that runs a custom CRO 150 gn projectile to this pace so the 140s are no problems .. Barrel life is limited to 1500 to 1800 but it will drill holes .. I believe i could get a reamer print if i asked and pass it on ..JR..Jeff Rogers [quote="celtic12bore"]:D :D

Patrick,

Presumably, as you're asking this question on a F-Class website, then that is what you have in mind for your wildcat? Probably best to tell us that at the outset - otherwise you could get some inappropriate advice. There are usually differences in what is recommended for F-Class vs varminting vs benchrest etc. We have shooters on this forum with expertise in many areas, but their advice is only as good as how you define your question.

Gentlemen many thanks for your answers.
It has proven verry helpfull.
Please bear with me as I am sure there are times when My questions seem silly or annoying.
But as we dont have f,class back home,everything looks good to me.
But like buying a car,its not always the flashey one with the spoilers that has the TRUE power and performance.
again thanks.
