HI Al,

My primers are remarkably consistent in thickness: CCI BR2s are .01250", Fed 210s are .1265", and Fed magnum 215s are 0.1270. As an update to you and anyone else interested, I have worked up a load now, with the barrel I collected earlier data with, with 0.005 crush (which in my uniformed primer pockets is 0.004 beyond flush with case head) of BR2s, and with primer flash holes expanded to 2.25mm. That expansion gives me enough difference in group size compared to deburred-only flash holes in Lapua 284 brass. Its funny, but any improvement in MV was slight, or lost in the noise; but nailing a better accuracy node (via tuner adjustments only) seems easier.
I got diminishing returns with larger drill holes, but didn't go beyond 2.7mm on the warning of another poster citing potential blowback upon primer against firing pin. I love my firing pin.
