Lapua suspending production of some cases

#1 Postby mcourtin » Wed Nov 02, 2022 11:06 am

Just read this:

Due to the continued high demand of Lapua cases and the prevailing market conditions impacted especially by the Ukraine situation, Lapua case availability will continue to be limited and delivery times extended. To better serve our civilian and military obligations, we are indefinitely suspending production on a selection of cases. It is our intention to resume production of these calibers as soon as market conditions stabilize.

Lapua is discontinuing 7.62x39 cases.
Lapua is suspending the production of the following cases:
222
22-250
6 Creedmoor
6.5x47
6.5 Grendel
6.5x284
7mm-08
7x64
7x65R
284
308 Palma (small p)
7.62x53R
8x57
260 Remington

I really thought sales of 6.5x47, 284 and 308 Palma would've been high enough to maintain production.
Maybe not.

Copy of a post from Lapua on Patreon.

To better serve Lapua’s civilian and military obligations, Lapua is suspending production on a selection of cases. It is Lapua’s intention to resume production of these calibers as soon as market conditions stabilize.

Lapua is taking necessary steps at their production sites to improve production capabilities, so that Lapua can serve you at normal levels as soon as possible

Let's hope that Lapua doesn't go the way of Berger in terms of availability.

Pete
