Load data 168 vld in 284

#1 Postby Ray Hurley » Sun Aug 07, 2022 7:33 pm

Hi guys.
Looking for a rough start point for 168 vld 7mm Bergers in a straight 284. 28 inch parallel barrel 1:9 twist. Anyone running these, looking to preserve my stash of 180/184 so will run the 168vlds at my local range.

Cheers

Ray

Hey Greg.
Thank you for the reply. What muzzle velocities should I be expecting to see.

Hey mate, I think I was around 52 in the shehane from memory. Was all I used at short ranges for a while. Plodding along around 2900. I would say start at 50 and work up knowing current powder seems faster than the older stuff. Jammed 10 seemed to work fine.

G'Day Ray,

I haven't checked, but I would expect about 2870-2880.
