F standard front rest question

#1 Postby Bobcat » Sat Aug 28, 2021 9:04 am

G'day all,

The pic is of the front rest I got with a rifle years ago and just started out in F standard. View is looking at the left side of the rest, black circle is the knob to adjust height.

My question is, does the bolt that runs from front to rear that holds the feet on need to be locked so the feet don't move or free moving back and forth?

I've highlighted the area I'm talking about.

Cheers

The movement in the bottom piece takes up the recoil when you fire. Push forward and you should be on or close to target again.

The feet are allowed to move if you are using the bipod for f standard, but not for f/tr.
