Does anyone know anywhere in Australia that has these available? I'm guessing they will be around $1 a bullet.

Has anyone tried ordering sierra bullets from one of the US places directly to try get them cheaper? how much red tape is involved?

Look up reloading international, there is a bit of red tape. The site explains all of this .

thanks Gsells will look them up, was hoping to try a box of 100 here first to see how they go in an 8 twist.

Just need a 300 win mag case to push them at a decent velocity.

With early reports of some people having the 150gn Sierras coming apart when pushed too hard, it might be best not to go too big in case size with these new pills. I would be tempted to try them in a 6.5x284 sized case and not push them too hard.

I've run them thru my 6.5 Creedmoor at an honest 2700fps (23" barrel) and my barrel is a 1-6.75 twist. I've only shot them out to 430 yards but no bullet failures. Accuracy is outstanding.

I know the velocity isn't really high but twisting them out of a 1-6.75 twist barrel......if they are going to blow up that should've done it for me.

That’s better velocity than I would have thought. I would have expected 2400-2500 range from a little Creedmoor.

Yes it's the 5R style rifling.

I personally was hoping to hit close to 2600fps. When it came in at 2700fps (I verified velocities using a magneto speed and my oehler chronographs at the same time and there was only a 5-6fps. difference between the two). The magneto speed read a tad faster but that makes sense is it's mounted right on the barrel right at the muzzle.

The chamber on my gun is a .020" shorter throat than the saami min. spec. reamer. My load was 41.5gr. of H4350. No pressure signs and bolt opened with no issues etc...

The posts I read on the U.S forum seemed to indicate that the 5R type barrels didn’t have the same bullet blow up problem as the regular barrels. In your position you would know a lot more about this than myself (and most others) so do you think there is any validity to the notion that the canted land barrels are gentler on bullet jackets when bullets are spun very quickly.

about .40c US each from midway USA.... would a 6.5 saum be a good rocket booster for these ?

it would boost them well, but at the cost of potentially using 1/4 of the barrels life working up loads.
