I've run them in a 1:10 before molied with .030 jump & they shot passably OK at pretty much spot on velocity for Belmont energy limit in a barrel set up for Berger 210 VLDs. Now I have a 1:9 barrel to play with & need guidance about how far I should throat the barrel out.I've only every used a hybrid in my 6BR and they were extraordinarily forgiving in that conformity, shooting much the same jumped or jammed.

It seems to me that with these long buggers that setting the throat for a useful jam & velocity, I'd be running the pill way back into the case if I later tried some serious jump.

Just a clarification, I will be molying, that's what I do because it works for me on several levels.

What's your take on the 215s?

I shoot them in a 1 in 10, that said they dont work on all barrels. I have two that tac drive with them some that are ok and some that are hunting rifle groups it is the 215. Mine are 50 though jump and the place they shoot seems to be 2650- 2700 dependant on barrel. Not yet tried a one in nine.

John, if you want my take give me a call, I think 215's are workable to the same amount of accuracy as the 200's, they are just not ideal.

Hi John, I have a 1:9 shooting 215s, I can't get the same velocity that I can from the 1:10 but obviously they will remain stable further out. I run Maddcos with WS2 instead of moly and find they all shoot OK with a 5-10 thou jump, but better with 50+.

You might want to try the FTR reamer. It has 300thou of freebore with a leed that runs from root to bore diameter over about 1/2", so not your standard leed. I have room for 50.5 of 09 in Lapua Palmer brass with a 50thou jump, that gives me 2620 from the 1:9 (2660 ish from the 1:10s).
