a recent phone call to t s e barrels reveals that they make stainless lapped barrel blanks up to 31" long finished length.
has anyone had experience with these barrels?
always good to buy aussi if it will do the job.

Hi Bruce , I certain Gatton shooter did quite well with one in Qld teams this year and at the Nationals.
I've seen that barrel in action a 6.5 mm and yes it's quite accurate! Just keep the carbon under control!

how would you rate t s e compared to the better known american brands?
what i need is a 40 cal x about 32" long 12 or 13 twist, so choices are limited.

40 cal I haven't had much experience with , but sounds like fun lol! I would stick to local manufacturers, I've seen good barrels by all of the local manufacturers.
Now would I trade my 2 Barts and 6 Liljas for local barrels ? I would say the 7/08 and .284 Bart barrels would have to be the most accurate barrels I've seen !( once sorted !)

I've seen a younger J Reid Carve up f standard with a Maddco.308 barrel a few years back too!

I believe every barrel maker from time to time makes a Friday Arvo special that doesn't shoot!
I am convinced that a good barrel will shoot pretty much straight away if the tune if correct .
Just remembering Cam's passing ( nearly 2 yrs now ) .

I heard a story that he bought a number of Kriegers , chambered them , then shot them .
If they didn't shoot after Ten shots , they were put aside until he picked a couple of good ones that did .
I believe JM is still shooting one of those in her .284 , which is what was taken to Raton . Now had over 3000 rounds and still shoots extremely well ! But it will go one day ( we have plans to change it out soon we hopes) .

Look I don't you can go wrong with a TSE .

Bruce I have a .50 cal Chromolly barrel and it is very accurate so don't see why a .40 cal barrel would not be.

TSE are what used to be MAB. Some swore by MAB barrels, others liked them, never heard anyone say they were bad. I priced a barrel through them recently and they seemed reasonably priced. All for keeping Aussie jobs.
