Nraa queens

Post by scott/r »

I was hoping to shoot the presidents cup and the queens this year, but I just had a look at the entry form. I now have given up on the president's($150) and possibly won't shoot the queens ($170) either. When you take into account the time of work and ammo I'll be looking at a lot of money just to turn up. I'm not sure if I will even put the proposal into the Minster of War and Finances (the mrs). I think that I will just put the money towards a new barrel instead.

Add to that the cost that a lot have for travel from interstate. Its not a cheap persons sport but no sport is at the top level unless you are a professional and get paid to do it.

Now wouldn't it be nice to be a professional rifle shooter, being paid to travel the World and compete.

Vic Queens & Syme not much better at $290 + ammo and $60 if you have a van.
But in saying that they have to pay markers , and other running costs

Still cheaper than racing motorbikes
Stamp collecting would be less costly, but where's the fun?
Maybe you can do the club shoots and enjoy that with the occasional trip away.

Got told by the boss that I have to take leave before June so guess I'll give it a crack, might even be able to get a couple of days on the way up at a "rabbit property" with a mate. Yeah it is a bit on the costly side but as they say not a cheap sport. Brad Y you still going will be good to finally see you in person.

Airfare booked, need to get onto entry and buy some excess baggage too. Only arriving thursday arvo, shooting the queens, then going home monday- but its something I feel participating in will be very beneficial to my shooting.

Yeah that is partly the reason I am driving though I will be catching up with friends from my past so I have a need of a vehicle. Makes it easier to get around anyway. Where are you staying Brad. I'll be a travelling around staying at various friends places, got so much catching up to do.

Yeah I'm going to either be a vagabond or stay at my own house but if I do that I'll probably have to do work on it. Not what I had in mind to do on my holiday but some things can't be helped I suppose.

Things might change yet, got some average news today which might make money tight. Flight was only on FF points so not sure what to do.

That's not good mate I hope things aren't as bad as you say. I'd like to be able to say stay at my place but I am in the spare room as have tennant's living there. Good to be able to stay there when I'm town but only my wife and I.
