I was wondering what triggers people are using on their Barnard actions.

Two stage or single stage?
What pull weight are you running?

Cheers Norm.

Norm, I'm running the Barnard trigger as a 2 stage with an 8 oz pull. The second stage provides me with a safety margin as I like my finger on the trigger and like feeling it move before it goes off.

On the P action, most if not all use the Barnard trigger, it can be set down to about 5 oz with a light spring kit, I use mine as single stage but many use them in 2 stage.
With the S action, I have seen Davies, Jewell, Kelby etc, any Remington type trigger can be fitted.

Standard Barnard trigger at around 12 oz. If I was using it with a BR or Dasher (though I don't think you run these little girley calibers  ), I would run it at the minimum 5 oz.

Maybe we need a new category of F-Open for the small calibres. Hmmm what to call it? FONK (no kick) maybe?

Thanks for the reply’s. Seems like the single stage trigger is more popular with the Barnard in an F-Open rifle.

Re 6mmBR, Rod, I actually do shoot a 6mmBR. Its a Savage with a 30" Pre fit Pac-Nor barrel on it. Quite like it and it has produced my best ever 5 shot group at 100 yards.
I don't always shoot the big stuff. If it goes bang I will shoot it, I'm not fussy. But it must be accurate.

I'm using a Barnard trigger which has single stage set to about 12 oz.
Barnard have a conversion kit for the model P action to fit a Jewell trigger.
