Hi all,

I'm interested to know who'll be able to make it to the NARC OPM and what you guys think of the setup.

I really like that Target Rifle and F-class prize money is the same and the think that the way the badges are shared across the board is very fair.

I think the committee has done a great job and made a great step in the right direction acknowledging the popularity of F-class.

Im excited for the club and everyone that comes along.

I hope its a big turn out.

Can't wait for it, Denis !!. I was only there for the Sunday last year but it was a great atmosphere and a really good shoot to attend.
Can you point me at a motel or hotel anywhere close by ?

G'day Tony,

I'll have to do some asking and get back to you.

You know that rifle you were using at the NSW Queens!?............................. can you leave it home?
Not that it'll matter, your in great form and you'd probably be shooting 60's with a slingshot.

Have no fear my friend !! That Bartlein barrel is now resting in a safe till the ACT Queens and I will be back to normal procedures at North Arm. I have screwed my Broughton 6 x 47 Lapua in and will play with that for a while, which will hopefully improve my wind reading skills a bit. You don't have much to fear from me. Worry more about the likes of Fairbairn, McEwan, McEwan and Tracey , and hope that Lobert and McNamara are too busy to come South.
I was one of the many who got their butt well and truly whipped by that wind channel last year that you call home , and will be over the moon if I can just improve a couple of points this time around. I found it to be reeeeeally challenging, but that's one of the things about this sport that keeps me keen.

G'day All,

It been a fair struggle, but I've finally been given the go ahead to get a club Face Book page up and running. It's here to stay provided that it doesn't pose any problems to the longer toothed members who are unsure about social media, etc.

I've started spreading the word amongst shooters about thre OPM via FB.

Could all forum members who have a FB page and believe in the importance of social media please support the decision to go with FB and "LIKE" our page.
And please invite FB friends to like it too.

https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/North ... 4331586596

........... and the OPM EVENT.

https://www.facebook.com/#!/events/453315501453936/

Thank you, I/we really appreciate your help.

As most would know, it can be really difficult trying to get "change" and growth in any type of club.

It's really appreciated, Denis.

I remember staying at the Red Bridge Motor Inn (Woombye) for the North Arm OPM about 6-7 yrs ago. First time we stayed overnight with our first born in a porta-cot...something you never forget :-({|=

Sorry for the delayed response. Been rather busy showing our cattle to 182 Colombian cattle farmers.......then cleaning up after them.
Cam thanks for the offer. I have actually got a decent swag of my own.......I am concerned about a viscous rumor that my wife spreads about me. Apparently I snore like a bastard and especially when having had a few drinks.
I can honestly say that I have never heard myself....so until I do it's only hearsay.
But in the best interests of our friendship, ......and your marriage ......it might be best if i follow Aaron's advice and try Wombye for a bed !
Rgds

Tony, I didn't really have any luck with recommendations. Most of the members were away today and those of us that were there haven't needed to use one yet. We're still on good terms with our wives it seems.

I don't know if they have to be firearm friendly or if doesn't matter.

I drive past the Red Bridge Motor Inn every day and it looks clean and well maintained. It's on the road into Nambour and is only 10 minutes tops to the range.

Thats just up the road from the Sunshine Coast Motor lodge.

Theres a few in Nambour that come up in a Google search, but they look pretty old. We shouldn't judge a book by its cover though, they might be like Dr Who's phone booth.

Denis,
Yes thanks mate, its all good ! Staying at the Red Bridge . Turns out "Brian" (who sounds like he might own the joint) has fond recollections of shooting 303's and thinks that the general demise of Rifle Ranges in this part of the world is one of societies greatest ills !!
I thought i had better do the right thing and let him know I was "pack'n", so to speak....................and then it took me about 20 mins to get off the phone. Didnt want a Credit card to secure the reservation , coz "all riflemen are good honest folks". It seems that shooters are very welcome at that establishment .
See you Saturday morning.
Tony
