Annealing cases

Well with the WARA queens only a couple of weeks away. Im in the predicament that my 6.5mm cases only have 100 thou of bullet in the neck. Im a little worried that the small amount will have an effect on inconsistent neck tensions. I size with a lee collet die and all the cases have been turned. Is it worth annealing them to help consistency? Sadly its been indicated that although this barrel while working well, wont be rechambered in time so Im forced to make do which isnt impressing me at all...

I think that the less of the bullet that is in the neck, the less important annealing is.

G'day Brad,
0.100" Luxury! Back when I were lad, my 22-250 had about 0.050-0.060" and I slept in hole in road (if you're not with it I suggest a good dose of Monty Python!)
Trick is light bullet grip/neck tension and jam those pills! just make sure there are reasonably "straight" before chambering! This ensures they will align with bore.
FWIW, I've seen SR BR shooters start a weekend with new brass and chuck it at the end of the shoot, 200 firings, 20 cases @ around $120-$160/100cases.
Me, I've still got my original cases and get 2500-3000 firings out of 20cases!

Ned- all good I always look on the bright side of life and like traffic lights but only when there green.

These bullets are jumping 5 thou and have shown to have no effect on scores up to 17 thou jump. I might just leave it be then and take a deep breath and hope everything comes together.
