Gents,

Here's my new FO rifle.

Remington 700, Trued, PTG coned bolt.
Kreiger 28" 1-8T .266nk Heavy Varmint
Shehane Baby Tracker
Jewell BR Trigger
Sightron SIII 10-50x60 LRFCH
Ken Farrell Rings & Base

Did some load testing yesterday and settled on 39.5gr 2209 behind the 103gr Copperhead VLD. Held 3/4 X Ring at 1000yds. Was very happy with that.

Ran into a lil potential issue but. The batch if copperheads I've done my testing with are from July 2011 and this new batch I have are April 2013 and when I seated them using the same setting for my July 2011 copperhead and the COAL of the new rounds are 10 thou shorter but I'm hoping the Ojive location is the same. Will be testing at 300m this afternoon.

Cheers guys.

Brad,

I did off the bench. Had coz I could get the rifle far back enough.

Just had a zero session. Wasted nearly 30rds just trued to zero the rifle. Fire a shot, adjust. Shot is wild. Took forever. Finally I have up. And trued to shoot a 10 rd group. Lucky if it was a 2" group and 1.5" of vertical. I don't get how a load which showed awesome vertical at 1000yds shoots that bad at 300m. And I had to adjust the rest elevation nearly every shot as the rifle recoils high. I was that pissed with it that I was ready to turf it out the window. I'm pretty sure my elevation is coming from the stock. It's got a drop on the butt and I think that's the problem it at least part if it.

In ready to go back to a Bipod and my 308. I can shoot better then that of a bloody bipod.

Sorry guys. Rant over.

Quick, your rear bag looks very soft ie under filled. Rifle looks good.

Danny,

Could have contributed to bad vertical and inconsistent elevation?

Quick, bad elevation and inconsistent vertical, go for a firm rear bag, as much as you can fit in it.
