FTR Jealousy!!

Bit Jealous today, the Australian/South African F/TR team has been touching down in Bloemfontain the last few days, lucky buggers.

Also a bit jealous of the Saffas too, havign F/TR as there local sport allows them to invite international teams ecah year to their national tournament, how nice woudl it be to have an international team visit each year in Australia.

Having Beloment, which was recognized by the international teams here a few years ago as been one of the best the planet has to offer, its a shame we are not able to invite more team from around the globe, lets hope this changes soon.

Its amazing the friendships that are made, I for one cant wait to get back to the USA this year to see the folks a met last year, many who I am in touch with on a weekly basis.

Team USA has just arrived in SA too :cry:

What plans or submissions are in place in regard to having F/TR recognised here in Australia Jasmay?

We all know we have a team heading to the world championships, best of luck to them all, but where does F/TR fit in with the greater scheme of things here? Anything in the pipe line those in the know would like to share?

Hi All
It has just come up that as F/TR is not in the SSR's are we covered by insurance while shooting F/TR ?? Interesting question and its above my pay grade.

This matter was brought to my attention by an older and wiser head that has been involved with shooting for 40 years, he was not trying to create trouble just clarification.
My solution has been to adopt the ICFRA F Class Technical Rules as well as the SSR's it has been moved adopted and is in the minutes.

Nowra RCi now has 8 members shooting this discipline so it was a worrying thought that perhaps we were doing the wrong thing by our members.
I think there are enough body's in Australia now shooting this discipline to get it into the SSR's and it would then sort this mess out once and for all.

I acnt see why it would be an issue insurance wise, it is basically Fopen with a bipod and .308, and when I shoot it in club at the moment its fopen.

I think there is a move towards it, there are some things in the pipeline which I cannot mention yet, but it is progress in the right direction!!

Strange answer Jasmay, You are obviously passionate about having F/TR introduced and as such would have thought this be a great place to discuss whats on the agenda from those involved in trying to get it off the ground. You may find some support here for whatever is in the "pipeline".

But, if we dont know, or, are not allowed to know then how can we be of use to your endeavour?

No secrecy or power trip guys, I just can't say anything until its made official. Sorry...

Put it this way, the fact it was shot at a few state queens last year was a big move, and that maybe repeated this year.

I guess we just all have to band together and keep at our local associations to trial it at the very least.

I for one would like to see FTR become a commonwealth sport.

I don't think it's any secret that members of the team to Raton have been invited to shoot F/TR alongside the "official" Presidents and Queens in June. I don't know what the logic of excluding anyone else who might have wanted to show us up was. Sadly I can only stay for the Presidents.

Yeah probs. not now Barry, I was just told to keep a lid on it until entry forms were out. Agree, shoudl have been open to all, would have been a good way to gauge interest, I guess there is still a lot of fear F standard would lose to many maybe?

I see, so in order to play this game we now need credentials, how ridiculous!
At least the Aussie team members cant be shown up by a normal citizen, now that could get a tad embarrassing.

Not sure where you're coming from Tom. Are you supporting the inclusion of F/TR or not? The Australian F/TR Team will be practicing at Belmont prior to the Queens. It makes sense for them to be allowed to shoot in the Queens. Your comments suggest you have large chip on your shoulder regarding the Australian Team.
