If F-TR ever replaces F-standard and I'm not saying it will. Objectively where will you aim to lose the weight. barrel profile, length bi-pod? If you were forced to what would you look at first?

If that happens while I am still shooting then the answer would be simple, I would shed the weight by selling my rifle.
But to answer your proposed question, for me the first place would be in the stock, I have room to move there. I guess the last place would be the barrel since I am shooting a .223 and need the length to be serious about the longer ranges and I like what I am currently using. Of course that combination would unbalance my rifle, may need some more thought.

bipod 1st, scope mounts 2nd, stock 3rd, scope 4th, barrel 5th, already using a stolle panda due to its light weight.

Move to the other F Open, the one with a greater weight limit.

I think the chances of F/TR replacing F/std are as likely in the near future of Ford replacing Holden.
I,m think along a different track. I built (well paid Matt P to build) an F/TR rig, now I realise that my F/TR load/rifle will be F std legal, so Im looking at whether I will bother adding weight to the rear end for F/std or just swap it between the two. If I was to get serious, I would get a heavier F/std barrel.

So are you using 155 grn pills in FTR? or are you going to make them jump a heap if your barrel is set up for heavier projectiles?

Danny,
Should not be a problem,I have a barrel shooting 200 grain SMK`s and load 155 HBC`s with 10,000" jump no trouble at all.

DannyS. I have a load for 155gn bullets and 168s. I chose the 155s as I can use them in either class. Also the 168s will be marginal in cold dense air. The throat is good for 155s as the lighter bullets are what I intended to use in the 13" twist barrel.
The 155s will be perfect for lighter conditions and for shorter ranges, so I intend to screw in a fast twist barrels for tricky conditions.
