Barnard 284, alloy stock, March scope

This is my main F Open rifle. It is a Barnard action chambered in 6.5WSSM and 284. It has a Ken McLachlan Alloy stock and March 10-60x scope.

I was so dissapointed to see you have a new stock, the old one was so much better finished !!
Who made the rear bag ??? How wide is the rear of the stock ??

. Couldnt post pictures of the sweetheart in the old stock as it would be classed as porn
.
The rear of the stock is just under 3". Switching back to standard rear end though due to bouncing on the rear end.

Did Alan lend you his can of grey paint it looks suspiciously like the same colour.(YUK)
Does it have a low radar signature
Interesting rear plate I can see how that would make a very stable set up
It’s obviously works for you congratulations on the recent win at Belmont
Switching back to standard rear end though due to bouncing on the rear end
More lead in the back

i hope you're not clamping that rear plate!
is there a rule about picking up the gun and leaving the rear bag on the ground?

No clamping on the rear end, other way actualy. With the flat plate set up, there is no real sideways guidance as with the standard set up. (flimsy side ears which are a bit too wide for the plate). I think the hard rear rest might have been causing some of the verticle issues as well, which is why it is removable.
As the 7mm doesnt torque over like I expect my light 300WSM 1000yd BR barrel shooting 210-230gn Hybrids will, I will be going back to standard set up and double check it.

one of the things i like about your stock, and you might correct me on this, is that you seem to be able to keep your face off it, thus reducing effects of hold variation.

Thats right Bruce. It came with an adjustable cheek piece, but like with my Mastin stocked Panda action F Open gun, I pulled off the cheek piece.

looking at your action would suggest you are prepared for the advent of electronic targets.
the low recoiling 6mm might suit this job.

My new Barnard S action (for F/std and F/TR) in left bolt, left port, fired right handed will be even better for times when machine gunning on electronic targets is called for. It will primarily be in 308 (13 and 11" twist), but will also have a 284 1000yd BR barrel and might even yank the 6mm barrels out of my Panda if the gun goes well.
