Bruce,
They were marketed by the late PMC group. I use their standard LR primers in my FS loadings.
One desirable feature is that they are on the large side, so they fit "older" primer pockets better than some. One downside is that they can be a bugger to fit into new brass if you use one of the low precision hand primers.

Don't tell anybody, but the combination of their inexpensive price & their performance consistency makes them by far the best standard LR primers I've used. I had the best SD out of them ever in .308 calibre until I went to the Lapua Palma brass.
German Salazar has a lot to say for them too. Have a look at his site:

Ditto for what John said, but for the 284 as well.
The PMC SRMs are my favourite for the smaller cased calibers such as PPC,BR and Dasher. (not for the 6x47 though)
Pity they arent available in OZ anymore and my stash is nearly dry.
I wonder if anyone will import the Wolf or Tula Russian primers (same as PMC) which are available from USA?

I have contacted the importer and they have small and large rifle primers in stock. I am getting a price list off them and will know more by the end of the week. Not sure if its easy to ship primers around the country but melbourne people its easy.
