Barry, James,
How about a picnic shoot (all categories) at Bendigo run Bisley style? I know a few who'd be in it.
I'd suggest it as a supporting event at the Queens, but that would be harder to get approval for.

Yes, we need to trial and work it out, handicap system to start?

A handicap system based on the new grading averages might work. Alternatively a "choose your own" handicap, where you lose points if you go over or under filling your handicap. I don't think it should be a highly competitive event - mainly a learning experience, and probably a lot of fun.
And make it 11am start so it can be done in a day for most of the state.

I'd like to try a straight out handicap system if someone's prepared to do stats.

I'd be happy to help with the stats. The hardest part (fixing handicaps) could be done beforehand if it was a pre-register event. This might also be a good idea from the point of view of planning the number of targets, catering etc. because the turnout for an event like this is an unknown quantity.

Long ranges is an attraction for those shooters whose ranges only go back to 600
