I can't find anywhere on the entry form to specify F-Std or F-Open. So I guess they'll need to ask us when we collect our cards?

Refer to page 2 under JG McIntosh - "All "F" Class and the same for TR Queens.

Appears to be no provision for F class Std grade (eg A or B).

Maybe prudent for F Class shooters to nominate on form whether Std or Open and their grading if applicable. Many NSW F Class shooters will not be graded at this time.

As I am the messenger here, we decided to post the form on the NSW F Class website as a service to those not receiving the "Australian Target Rifle" Magazine, as the program and form were unavailable at this time on the NSWRA website.

Does anyone know what's happening? Last I heard the range was closed till further notice.

Still closed, I'm told they have 28 days to appeal the decision, there is a meeting at the range today to inform the members of what is happening, unfortunately I won't be there hopefully someone who attends can update us.
To be honest I don't think it's looking good and if the range does get reopened I think it will only be for a short time, this could be the last NSW Queens @ Malabar.

Hi guys, I was at the meeting today.

The NSWRA is lodging their appeal to the FAR with safety measures, in the coming week, the FAR have 21 days to respond, and hopefully in time so that the Queens can go ahead. If that is not the case, the NSWRA is looking at an alternative venue for the Queens, no details at this time as to where.

As for after 31st October, the relocation clause is still in play, the government to be held to this, worst worst scenario in court, but before this, there is a meeting with a consultant to explore the options and work together to find a solution. The NSWRA does not necessarily have to accept what is proposed, as the transition has to be seemless and to the NSWRA's approval. For all intensive purposes, the NSWRA will stay and use the range until such time as the Government provides an alternate venue, as this was the agreement and we are sticking to it and holding the government to their side of the agreement.

The asbestos issue is by all intensve purposes a furphy, the results show no dangerous levels to be concerned about, especially with our use of the range, the government is to be asked to explain their part in this and their motives.

The NSWRA had their own consultants come to the same conclusions about the presence of asbestos on the range. That is not to say that there is no asbestos on the range, because there is, but the NSWRA has had a management plan in place since 2002, basically do not disturb it, worst case scenario being to organise safe disposal under asbestos disposal guidelines by licensed contractors, etc..

This, in a nutshell is what was discussed today, and as time progresses more information will come.

I am close to those involved with this, and and will be getting weekly updates as to the progress of all of this.

The Queens is getting closer TMan. How do you rate its chances of happening now?

I was advised late last week that the Range Revocation Notice Appeal documents have just gone in to the FAR, and as previously, they have 21 days to look at the appeal. At this point in time, it certainly looks to be cutting it very fine if the Queens will go ahead. I have no other details at this time with regard to any alternate venues if ANZAC is not successful, but I am confident that I will be advised accordingly if any developments do occur.

Thanks Tman. I have a motel booked, plus travel and accommodation arrangements organised with other parties, so any information as it comes to hand will be appreciated.

If indeed the Queens does go ahead, we should try to meet up, it would interesting to put a face to a name!! I shoot with Port Jackson, have done so since about 1984, previously to that with Bradmill Sydney, originally started by employees of Bradmill Industries many years ago. I will probably be the only one in my club to shoot FClass, previously I used to shoot full-bore but my sight is not what it used to be. I was tempted to give it away, but then thought I might give FClass a go, there is no point letting a perfectly good rifle go to waste, when the operator cannot see, the operator needs glasses to fix the problem, hence the NF 8-32x56 BR!!. I don't know what my optometrist would say, except the prescription is a tad overpower!!

I started into this last year, and I am still getting bugs out of the system, an interesting learning curve, but that is what it is about. I don't expect to shoot that well, as compared to what I used to shoot in the Queens from a couple of years ago, but the experience is what it is all about, and learn along the way. The added incentive is that this could be the last Queens shot in Sydney, and I don't think that I could not shoot this, given the event, the atmosphere and the people that you meet.

Yes well I've only shot two Queens there and came away feeling the range had got the better of me. The score is ANZAC 2, me 0 - so its unfinished business . The view from the 800m mound is magnificent - it'll be sad to lose it. Yes I would like to meet you - will PM you once we know its happening.
