I'm looking for something to put together for my young son so we can shoot F-Class together. My trusty Barnard 308 is great for me but he really needs something smaller like a .223

With budget being a little tight I'm looking at the following.

Remington 700 SPS Action in .223
Maddco 30" target barrel 1/8 twist.
Choate Stock

Will the SPS action do the tick? Or is another breed of Remmie 700 preferred? (BDL CDL etc)

I have a Rem Police action for sale. You will need a trigger but it comes with 1. Single shot adapter glued in.
2. Farrel 20moa rail.
3. Oversized recoil lug
4. Sako extractor, no ejector
5. Bushed firing pin hole.

It has the 308 sized bolt face but I'm sure a smaller extractor will pull out 223 brass.
