mick,

I use them.

I have achieved the same level of accuracy with or without a tuner on my F Standard rifle. What a tuner does is let me continue to use the same load barrel in barrel out & just tweak the tuner to refine the performance. I'm happy with something around 2930 fps from the Dyer HBC. It works for me out to 1000 yards, so I'm reluctant to rock that boat with a load that hasn't changed for the last 4 barrels. Maybe things will change when I burn the rest of my 2206...

Match rifle is another kettle of fish. Most of us strive to achieve the highest possible velocity from our loads commensurate with good figures across the chronograph - something under 20 fps spread. Without a tuner, some of us have found that you can't tweak jump & components to tame those loads, whereas a moderate weight tuner, maybe 2 to 4 ounces, can pull those loads down under MOA out to 1200 yards.

Anyway, I shot so long with a foresight hanging off the front of the barrel that it just looks nekkid without something there.

John

thanks for the imfo
