Loading 103 Grain 6mm Copperhead

Post by bobeager »

Any feed-back on loading for the 6mm Copperheads. Particularly interested in seating depth.I did try a few in my Dasher using the same load as for the 6mm Scenars @ 300 yds and they were all "10's". These were 10 thou into the lands. However, in this same barrel the scenars prefer to be 15 - 20 thou off the lands. I have found that seating them into the lands produced vertical at longer ranges, especially if the Temp. heats up.

Regards

PS: I will be in Bendigo in April for the Queens.

Mine prefered to be .010 - .015" into the lands. (In my particular rifle, they did not like to be jumped at all.) They shot the best out of any in my 6x47 and now 6 Dasher.

I prefer seating into lands then you are not affected by throat erosion in a 3 or 5 day comp
I do believe that a sweeter spot can be found with jump but I would go for consistence every time. :)
