Omark firing pin spring specifications - my findings

Just got a new Omark firing pin spring from TSE today(Good service),

New length is 5.364", 33 turns of 0.055" wire with an OD of .395" (average)

Older but still functioning length is 4.997" same turns, outside diameter and wire thickness.

Old (definately doesn't work properly- i.e. fails to consistantly fire the primer, especially magnum or BR) length is 4.829" , same turns and .400" average outside diameter.

Big question is at what length should they be changed? Maybe someone will have an actual specification for this instead of my crude guesswork?

When I shot Omarks, I changed springs January 1 every year, so I don't know the answer to your question - just the solution.

cheers

Try the SARA store, they sell a heavy duty spring for the Omark and no one has trouble with them. They are around $7. The store re opens again on the 12th Jan.
