what is this 6.5x47 neck die

hi, just recieved my 6.5x47 neck die from the states but it dont work on my 6.5x47 . die is marked [ bonanza 6.5x47 ] - my brass will not fit up the centre of die ? die centre looks more like a 223 die with a 6.5 expander button ?. any ideas . can i get it reamed to suit ? thanks

Sounds like somebody took the ..222 Magnum case up to 6.5 once upon a time. There certainly was a very popular benchrest calibre 6x47 made that way, so it's possible.

In any case, I fear that the cost of remachining it to 6.5 x 47 Lapua is liable to be an expensive & probably not very satisfactory process. Toss it in the "once bitten" box on your bench & order the correct die.

thanks johnk, i think u maybe right . proberly my mistake in buying it as it was sold as bonanza 6.5x47 , which i thought [ bonanza ] was a brand . at least i learned something out of this .read & understand what im buying . thank god it was only $30 aus . thanks 4 the info.
