NRAA Range Officer accreditation

Apparently the NRAA has decided that all ROs have to retrospectively sit the Integrity Policy test and submit their results before 30 June. Failure to do so will result in having their RO accreditation cancelled.
Is this Ok, or a bit of Orwellian overreach?

That will become self evident when you do the training.
You will either, already be aware of the content, or some of it will be new.
Once complete everyone will be aware of the requirements and expectations.

So how many ROs did we have before the new system started a couple of years ago? And how many do we have now? Or do we not want to hear that answer? And how many do we expect to have after June 30 when this new deadline is set? Oh, I forgot...we have hordes of members elbowing each other out of the way to get on to a new RO training course. Take a number and form an orderly queue.
Did anyone really ask the Clubs how all of this would impact/has impacted them....either before or after these decisions were made? I see some Clubs struggling now to get enough ROs on to the mound to conduct a shoot. Too often it now falls back on to the same 1 or 2 volunteers to wear the load and inconvenience to their day.
And by the way...I have done my "Integrity" training.

Make accreditation easily accessible. At my particular range we have been pushing for range officer accreditation to happen for the last 7 or 8 years. We get the same shit every year where Peter hullet goes to Rosedale on a Friday night where nobody can attend and we can’t get any certifications. The NRAA and VRA need to sort this crap out. We have been trying to sort this from a club and district level for as long as I have been involved with the VRA and NRAA And we get nowhere. There needs to be an annual circuit where we can get people certified at clubs around our district, state and national level that is properly prepared and organised and made available. Honestly I would say that there are at least 80% of our clubs that don’t have proper range officers or range officers who are no longer qualified. This is an abhorrent situation that the NRAA and in my situation the VRA has let come to pass.
Fix it now!

Totally agree. Same problem in NSW. The two accreditation courses that have been advertised in the last 6 months have been in Sydney. Little consideration for regional clubs. The draft amended NRAA SSR mandate a qualified range officer or no shooting can occur:
2.3.1 All shooting on NRAA ranges must be controlled by a RO who has been accredited by the NRAA.
Shooting must conform to these SSR.
It is easy for the NRAA to mandate this but the onus is on them (+STA) to provide timely and accessible training and accreditation for club volunteers.
Personally, I'd like to see the development of a course that could be completed online on demand. In conjunction, there could be some practical requirements/mentoring at the club level and sign-off from an accredited range officer/club captain.

Ok Bigtravoz, To my knowledge Peter Hullett has conducted RO courses at Bendigo Range at every Queens and Kings for the past 3 years, also at Warrnambool for the past 2 years and to my knowledge has been around the state in several other locations on many occasions. All have been advertised well in advance via the VRA. Lenny Hayes has been conducting RO courses in the Shepparton /Glenrowan area for some time. I've done a number of courses in the Northwest Vic area down to Birchip.
Where are you located? we may be able to help.
ps If I have to travel to do a RO course i would expect the participants to travel a little as well. State level RO's can conduct the course and forward on the results to Peter Hullett. So If you have a state accredited RO in your area ask them
