WTB - Old .22 barrel to turn into a drop tube

Post by Rogue22 »

Hi All,

As the title suggests, I’m chasing an old 22 barrel which I can cut up and make a drop tube out of.

If you e got one sitting around let me know!!

Aluminium archery arrow shaft cut to suit.
Just a suggestion

PS. being in possession of a short cut barrel could be interesting to explain if someone in blue was asking....

Bunnings sells aluminimum tubes. 1 meter long, 10mm. About 10 bucks.
It is the perfect drop tube.
Cheers all

I think the idea is the rifling will make the powder swirl around on the way down and lay the kernels over to sit flat hopefully. Maybe get that extra bit in the case without a "crunch"!
Only problem is the direction.. Might need a left hand twist :🤔

Jimmy, I'll drop one of these at the club for you. Ask Rob if he's used his yet.

I'll be doing them in clear. It won't stop a double charge, but at least you can see you've done it before you pick the funnel up!

That’s exactly the plan Dave, and to turn the OD down a bit so it’s not so heavy.

Kris Mac put me onto it after he pulled a projectile of mine and saw how much powder was in there 🤣
