i have a new f class rifle on the way and have hit some delays so to save some time im looking to order a rear bag from sinclair before my stock arrives.
the stock i will be using is the new mcmillian f class with 5/8 flat butt, so can any body recommed what size flat portion in the bag to use for this? i would like to use one of the sinclair custom protecktor bag with the double stitching but im not sure if this will ride well.

cheers for any help

Hi Stuart
The protector double stich will be fine get the bag with extra thick base
The Web site sponsor PRO-CAL
http://www.benchrestbulletin.net/drupal/sites/bulletin/trade/procal/procalindex.htm
has a good range of rear bags
Also check out the bags that SEB make

Do what I did when I purchased a new rear bag and take a selection of timber blocks of varying thicknesses to the range with you and then experiment until you find the right height for the rifle and you

Stuart,

My rifle has a similar butt configuration. I've found the two stitch Protektor bag with cordura bunny ears (readily available here in Brisbane) suits my setup pretty well. The short ears don't bind on the sides of the stock & the cordura is much more easily tempered to reduce friction.

It works well whether I shoot off my joystick rest or Larkin bipod with sliding feet.
