Hi everyone. I'm setting up my first long range rifle and might want to try shooting an Fclass one day. From what I've read and what I feel works for me, I'm leaning towards SFP and MOA. Is this pretty common in Fclass?

I asked about good scopes being SFP and MOA in another forum but I got a lot of replies saying SFP is not good? I feel like that group might be mostly for long range competition style where people run around and shoot from different distances. I'm not interested in that type of shooting.

Yes. SFP and MOA with 1/8 adjustment is pretty common for F-class, typically with pretty simple reticle design like a fine crosshair, or crosshair with a dot.

FFP is suited to a discipline where there is a need to use sub tensions on their reticle for hold overs to allow for on the fly change of windage and elevation. I suspect hunters and PRS type guys would be favouring a FFP scope.

Go and visit your local NRAA range and ask Fclass shooters to look at their gear and advise and you might even get a shot too .

If you are only using the system for F-Class, think in imperial and understand what MOA actually means;
SFP with a simple "Duplex" style reticle.

If you are/may use the rifle for any other type of shooting at all, FFP Mil (which can still be used very effectively at an F-Class meet.

The reticle stays the same size, the notches mean different things at different mags, but if you are shooting a known target like we do thats cool
