Wellsford is one of those ranges that changes dramatically from Target A1 to target C8, and the wind can just chop around in a matter of seconds. I can say without any hesitation that I have been carted from one end of that range to the other on many occasions; it's brutal.

There hasn’t been many times where we have not had to click our scope or change our hold between shots

For the first day of the Kings, the winds have been switchy as usual but nothing too demoralising. The temperatures have been perfect. 36 in F open, 13 F/tr, 30 in both F std grades. There are 3 F class shooters clean after day 1 and stronger winds forecast for the start of the longs tomorrow.

No one took any list of calibers but from what I saw and heard, 7 SAUM and 284 were still very common but I saw this time that there were also quite a few 7mm/6.5PRC and a few straight 6.5PRCs as well, neither of which were around last time I shot in a Kings. There were already a few wildcats based on the necked up 6.5PRC case. There were a few Dashers and 6.5 Creedmoors and 6.5x55s still being used as well, with some only using them for 500-600.

I’m not sure but I’m fairly certain there were none regularly on the podium
