What are the others Bruce? I don't have any difficulty distinguishing between the two.

300AAC is a very good round. The power of a 30-30 Winchester that shoots flatter because of better bullets. Running the old 30-30 Winchester out of a lever gun vs a the AAC out of a compact bolt gun or a AR? I'll take the AAC.

I built a AR15 in 300AAC for my son. He used it last year for deer hunting. He did his job placing the shot well and the 135gr bullet did it's job on the deer.

Yes you have to becareful...in some cases you can get a 300AAC to chamber in a 223 chamber and if you pull the trigger....well you get the picture.

That being said it goes back to what your shooting and paying attention to what you are doing. I was at the range last year and caught a group of 3 guys trying to load 6.5PRC ammo into a 6.5CM bolt gun! Those are 3 guys who should take up bowling and shouldn't own a gun period in my opinion!

G'day Bruce. Shoot mine in a T/C so it only has to knock them over at 200. Quite effective at that range.

hi barry,
aeons ago i shot a std 308 win in a bolt action pistol.
that handled rams at 200 well.
another guy used a 308x1.5, and that sometimes rang a ram.
however i am not sure to what level he loaded it.
