Must have been a good day, everyone must be at the pub sinking a few cold ones given the silence to your question :D

Congrats to all the winners today. In particular my Rosedale "compatriot" Albert. That 60 at 1000yds was special =D> =D> . This sets things up for a great F-Open competition in the Queens.

Head down Albert, do the work and avoid distractions. More to come.

Thank you Alan and David. I was very fortunate with good conditions at times and able to read most of it... not all the time. Tomorrow the real competition starts with new challenges and opportunities.

If by pub you mean Albert Van Wyks van/campfire/pub/disco/karaoke/restaurant/gunsmithing bench/psychiatrist bench, then, yes everyone (who counts) has been there.
Conditions have been "fun". Winds have not been especially strong but conditions change just enough and regularly enough for 60s to be hard to get at most ranges. I think the conditions are perfect for a queens, difficult enough to make it interesting, but not bad enough to ruin your day. Conditions have pretty much stayed the same through the day, so no one can complain they got hit in an especially bad patch when others got perfect patches.
Mornings have been fresh but rising to mid 20s each day, so perfect shooting conditions. The range had some rain before the event which has kept the dust at bay. Since all mounds are nicely astroturfed, we are not wallowing in dust anyway, nor scraping our elbows on concrete mounds. The target pullers have been about the best I have come across, with no issues or complaints. Everything has been run very well and flowing smoothly through the day.
The winners of the Syme lead up are.....
F open Albert Van Wyk
F std A John Simmons
F/tr Marty Kelly
TR A Geoff Grenfell
I will try to keep you updated with more news over the next 3 days.

Albert's hospitality is legendary.

Thanks for that Rod - I was wondering if we were going to get some coalface reporting without Tim being there.

Though there have been complaints about the quality (and volume) of the singing coming from his brai.(BBQ).

One of the best daily performances in Australian F-Open history. The bar has been raised to a very high level.

Got my fingers crossed for Donna.

Duncan really likes V-Bulls.

Good luck Rod, to get through clean in F Class would / will be quite an achievement.

Congratulations Rod Davies, Frans Knox, Dave Phipps and James Corbett in your 2019 VRA Queens win. Looks like the wind gods threw everyone a wobbly for the last 1000.

So close to a clean sheet Rod. Where’d you lose them?

Congratulations also to grand Agg winners too.
