Hello Dave
From the NRAA Standard Shooting Rules:
For F Open
SSR 20.1.1.5 The weight of a trigger pull is unregulated, but must be safe and conform to the requirements of rule 20.1.1.6.
20.1.1.6 A trigger is deemed "safe" if vigorous cycling of the action does not result in the firing pin being released. Any failure will lead to the trigger being deemed "unsafe" and the rifle may not be used until the trigger is made "safe".
For F Standard
20.2.1.9 The minimum trigger pull shall be 1kg, and the trigger must pass the safe cycling test as described in TR 3.5 - 3.5.6 inclusive.
TR 3.5 - 3.5.6 describe how and by whom the test will be conducted: essentially cocking the rifle and using an approved weighing system in a prescribed manner to check the safety of the trigger.
I have been studying the rules to get a better idea of how F Standard is conducted and gleaning ideas for a future F Open rifle.
Hope this helps.

Iggy,
Thanks mate thats just what I wanted to know .. I have a lovely 308 which would be good to try in F standard and Open. It has a Jewell 2-8 oz BR trigger which I could use in Open, but having that info, I will swap it out with another BR rifle and use the trigger from it to make the 1kg limit.
I had a quick look for the rules but only found references to the rules page which I am yet to locate.
Thanks
cheers
