2019 what’s your plans?

Hi All,
2018 is done on the shooting calendar so plans are underway for next year.
Think I’ll do the vic and SA Queen’s along with some Bisley shoots which are great fun.
Any shoot with manual targets is appealing as I think they will disappear over time
So what are your plans?

Hey Tim
Hope you can make it to Atherton 29th and 30th June 2019 with Rod?
We juggled dates to suit school holidays various states and weather then SA changed their Queens???!!! which now begins a few days later than our shoot!
We will have 8;9 and 1000 Sat 2+ 15 Bisley on the Sat 29th
Sunday will be 2+ 20 twice at 1000 yards Bisley.
Competitor marking [ 2 per target] on manual targets.
Merry Xmas
Shane

Hey Tim, I'm hoping to do the same as you but, I'm also a little worried about SA Queens in July weather wise. The SA queens will be back where it was soon, late Sept. Maybe see you in WA in Sept in 2019 for the teams?

I’m planning on the Atherton shoot then a quick turnaround to the SA Queen’s by the look of it.
Keen for the 20 shots at 1000 Bisley style
Rod has been talking up this shoot so he should get there.
The northern weather should be near perfect followed by ??? In SA...
Not planning to do the state teams this time, give someone else a go.
I’m hoping to do FTR next year just for a change which may be a little easier for flying to shoots in the previously mentioned exotic locations.

Young family limits me to regionally close shoots.
Hoping to do Sydney Queens (and get a bruising again)
Canberra and Bendigo Queens.
Ungarie match rifle/long range
Glenrowan put on great events and will be trying to get to their Easter shoot.
Wodonga long range picnic 3x900 is a great shoot as well with glenrowan charity the next day.

Tim, you will revel in our tableland weather at that time of the year!
We will be getting out an entry form in the New Year
Pre nomination will be essential to help us run the relays and target allocation by discipline.
Our cut off will be end of May 2019.
From the first mention Rod said he would come and we welcome F/TR shooters as well!
We will do our best to help air travellers with some gear to save on things like rear bags etc.
Personbally I have 2 rear Edgewood bags which I can loan along with matts etc.
Merry Xmas
Shane

After you had your Xmas dinner why not pack the car up and go to Warrnambool for 5 days of shooting in interesting conditions starting on 28th December including Port Campbell on new years day. The flyer is on the VRA web site. It's a great time with great people with fantastic social interaction.

Hi Shane
Thanks for the offer for a mat and rear bag, I’ll put dibs on one set and confirm that soon.
When flying to SA I send the heavy stuff earlier by courier then fly with the rifle and ammo.
Just have to check cost of the courier to cairns from Newcastle.
I have also been offered accommodation for this shoot - should be a great weekend away

Make a concerted effort to get back into TR shooting with the Nagambie Club.

Mick762,
Sounds like a great idea mate, Nagambie Rifle Club is a great little club. Another TR shooter would be fantastic, hope to see you next year for our practice/pennant matches...
Cheers

G'day Alan,
I have been to a couple practice Sundays with Steve running the show.
Will be good to once again drag the CG Inch out into daylight.
Hope to also see if we can get IBS 600m shoots hapening - its the excuse I used to build a 6 Dasher hahaha. Will also be a potential boost for the Club both monetarily and member wise. I think I may have spoken to you about that too?

What is S.A like weather wise in July?
I didn't shoot much at all in 2018, but it looks like 2019 will be a bit busy.
My first shoot for the year will likely be the
Ungarie Bisley shoot in March.
I intend to get to
Victoria and NSW Queens every year.
My leave for the
Atherton Bisley shoot has been approved, so I will be taking a break from winter and fly up to Atherton and enjoy its cloud free 28 degree weather. I intend to do F/TR at any events I fly to, so it will be F/TR in Atherton.
I had intended to fly home from the Atherton shoot, grab some more ammo and jump on a flight to
South Oz Queens, but the weather warnings are ominous.
In August I will brave the
Dubbo weather again for the 5-6 day
600-1000yd Bench Rest with my 35kg 300WSM and my little braked Dasher.
I had heard there might be a
Bisley shoot at Bendigo around September as well, so intend to get to that one. I have heard there are more flights to Bendigo airport now, so I might fly down to Bendigo, which means F/TR.
Later in the year I hope to get out to
Coonabarabran for the 1000/1100/1200/1500yd matchrifle shoot, just hoping it doesn't clash with the
NSW Queens.
If Brisbane (or anyone else) puts on a Bisley shoot next year I will try to fly to it.
With these 6-7 shoots planned, my annual leave balance will be low and dance card will be full so I doubt I will get to any local OPMs or many clubs shoots in 2019 but might squeeze in a
fly shoot or two if I can get the time off.

Rod, in 2019 the Long Range Matchrifle shoot in Coonabarabran will be 8,9 & 10 Oct.
This means that you can do the Coonabarabran PM on the 5 & 6.
Monday the 7th off or practice.
Long Range Match Rifle 8,9,10
Then drive to Sydney in time for the Queens 11,12 & 13.
How good is that.
